Dr Geoffrey Francis is a consultant Gastroenterologist and Interventional Endoscopist who provides comprehensive care across the Gold Coast and Northern NSW.
Dr Francis consults and performs procedures at John Flynn Hospital, Pindara Private Hospital, and Tweed Heads Day Surgery, offering expertise in both general and advanced gastroenterology.
After completing his Bachelor of Science (Psychology) with Honours at Newcastle University in 1998, Dr Francis went on to complete his medical studies and graduated in Medicine from the University of Queensland in 2001.
He completed his physician training at Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane before undergoing advanced training in gastroenterology and hepatology at John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle.
Furthering his expertise, Dr Francis undertook advanced endoscopy fellowships at The Western Hospital in Melbourne and Wake Forest University in North Carolina, one of the United States’ premier G.I. endoscopy centres.
Upon returning to the Gold Coast in 2011, Dr Francis has continued to practise privately, providing patients with access to the latest advances in gastrointestinal care.
Raised on the Far North Coast of New South Wales and educated in Mullumbimby, Dr Francis has deep roots in the local community. His decision to pursue medicine stemmed from a desire to give back to the community that supported him.
After training in world-leading gastroenterology centres across Australia and abroad, he brought advanced skillsets home ensuring local residents could access world-class specialist digestive health care without the need to travel to capital cities.
“This is the community I was born and bred in. I’m proud to raise my family here and to be giving back at such a high level.”
